2016 PBL Draft

(Jamestown,NY) The Jameston Jackals have drafted two players during the Premier Basketball League draft that took place Tuesday night.

 

Tyreek Jewell, a 6’2 combo guard who played the past two years for St.Francis College in Brooklyn will join the Jackals for their upcoming season.  Jewell averaged 12.9 points per game along with 5.6 rebounds per game during his senior campaign, while also being named NEC Third Team All-Conference at the Division 1 program.  

 

Jewell has some history in Jamestown and is looking forward to once again playing his home games at Jamestown Community College. Playing for the Jayhawks in from 2012-2014, Tyreek scored over 1,000 points in his two year career at JCC. As a sophomore, Jewell averaged a division ­high 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He was named the Region 3 Division II Player of the Year after scoring over 30 points on nine different occasions.

 

In the second round, the Jamestown Jackals selected Darrious Hamilton a 6’9 Forward from Utah Valley. Hamilton, a Native from San Antonio, Texas, averaged 4.9 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game during his senior year at Utah Valley University. Hamilton will add a great presence under the basket for the Jackals as they prepare for their second season in Premier Basketball League.

 

We’re extremely happy with acquiring the rights to these two young men. The Jackals will host an open tryout on Saturday, October 29, 2016 registration information will be posted soon.
